Corporate Outreach Manager (India)

In alignment with our mission to improve the lives of billions of farmed fish, Fish Welfare Initiative is working to transition seafood demand to incorporate animal welfare practices in aquaculture.

 

We’re looking for a superb communicator and adept persuader, ideally with experience in food supply chains, who can launch India's corporate transition to higher welfare fish.

Note: We are only accepting Indian nationals or people living in India for this position.

Who We Are 

Fish Welfare Initiative (FWI) is a startup organization whose mission is to improve the welfare of fish as much as possible. We focus specifically on farmed fish, or fish raised in aquaculture.

​

We collaborate with corporations, governments and producers to improve animal welfare standards in aquaculture. We believe that this is the right thing for fish, farmers and consumers.

How You Will Make a Difference

The following are the core responsibilities of the Corporate Outreach Manager:

​

  • Communicate: Build and maintain communication with farmed-fish procuring corporations.

  • Persuade: Convince corporations of the value of improving fish welfare.

  • Commit: Build and negotiate commitments to transition corporations’ purchasing over to higher welfare fish.

  • Collaborate: Collaborate with corporations on developing/transitioning supply chains for higher welfare fish.

  • Brand: Support corporations in effectively and ethically branding higher welfare fish.

  • Publicize: Publish press releases, blog posts, and other forms of media discussing our corporate work.

  • Lead: Lead FWI India’s overall corporate work (once/if you prove yourself to be able to lead such a project).

  • Other: Perform any other duties assigned by the Managing Director or the Executive Director.

Qualifications

Required Criteria

You must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for this position:

​

  • Written and verbal fluency in English: You can write with zero grammatical mistakes.

  • Exceptional communication and self-management skills.

  • Comfort with high pressure negotiations and in a high-energy work environment.

  • Willing to travel each month for 3-10 days.

​

Nice to Have Criteria

We encourage you to apply even if you only meet some of these:

​

  • Previous experience in the animal protection, environmental or farmer livelihood sectors in similar corporate outreach or market linkage work.

  • Previous experience building or transitioning supply chains.

  • Previous experience in marketing.

  • Demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of farmed animals.

  • Verbal fluency or knowledge of Hindi and/or Telugu.

The Fine Print

  • Location: Remote, though with one week spent every other month to work in person at our Vijayawada office.

  • Position Status: Full time.

  • Benefits: Health insurance, flexible hours, startup atmosphere, work from home or office.

  • Start Date: ASAP, with some flexibility.

  • Pay: Rs. 60,000 to 1,50,000Rs per month, depending on need and experience.
